Tech Bench – Virtual AV Control Part Two
In part one of our series on virtual AV control, we mentioned that it’s no secret that some AV manufacturers are struggling to provide hardware for their AV control products. Worldwide supply shortages over the last year have made it a critical issue for the entire industry.

The limited availability of traditional hardware control systems has highlighted the need for systems that can run virtualized control software. These virtual AV control systems can be operated from a cloud environment or run from off-the-shelf PCs eliminating the need for manufacturer-specific hardware.
While a great option over hardware control, installing and running virtual AV control systems require a few steps and a comfort level with Linux OS and popular control software like Crestron’s VC4 solution. Part two of our video series on virtual AV control provides a general overview of what is required to run a virtual system and some of the steps involved.
